So this is my first blog post. I have wanted a blog for a couple of years now and didn’t know where to start. Now I have one and I am sitting here contemplating what to write, thinking this is my first blog, it’s important, have to catch the eye and keep them interested so they come back for more, maybe slightly funny, maybe intriguing, maybe full of information, maybe that’s boring. It’s amazing the number of thoughts that can run through your mind in a matter of a minute. Then I thought if I could sum my blog up in one word, what would I want it to be? REAL……above anything else I want it to be real. So with that being said I would like to share why I am chasing my dream.
When I first started taking an interest in yoga I did it at home using on demand videos. I was looking for something new on the workout side of things to keep myself from getting bored. After doing this for years I went to my first yoga class with Sherri Youngblood, at the Climbing gym in Little Rock, AR. It was a stressful time in my life, personal and work related. Sherri’s class was an hour and a half long. When I came out of Savasana, I felt amazing! Why didn’t everyone do this? For that hour and a half all the stresses of everyday life just disappeared and at that moment I understood what living in the present moment meant. This was great and I decided that if others knew how great it was then they would be doing it too. This is the moment I knew I wanted to teach, so that way I could share this wonderful feeling with others.
Fast forward a bit……I opened Serenity Yoga back in 2015 with the hopes of bringing a yoga community to my hometown. Shortly after I was blessed with my little girl and gave up the studio to be able to spend more time with her.
Fast forward again…..Thanks to some amazing friends!-(I am forever grateful). I was fortunate to get the opportunity to have my studio again.
So here it is. This is where it gets REAL…….This is where my dream will become a reality. My dream is to be able to do what I love to do, full time. I want to be able to help people live a healthy, happy life. I want to help the young with balance, anxiety and stress and the young at heart with keeping mobility in their body. I want to help relieve sciatica in some and help others get better sleep at night. Yoga and mindfulness has so many health benefits. My dream is to share them. Beginning April 1st you will find me at the NEW Serenity Yoga. I am pouring my heart and soul into the moment. THIS is REAL and it’s beautiful.
